Events and Programs

Student Alumni Association (SAA) members can participate in a variety of SAA sponsored campus activities, alumni networking events and exclusive programing developed by SAA members. You will have the opportunity to meet new people, develop leadership skills and get involved on and off campus.

SAA supports and participates in a variety of events, including:

Aggie Diner

Come to Aggie Diner and sit down to a fabulous meal with a number of alumni in your field of interest. Aggie Diner is an award-winning program that allows students to connect with working alumni over a catered dinner in a professional setting. Aggie Diner is a great way for students to speak to professionals from varied career fields. Alumni come to reconnect and share their college and career experiences with interested students.

Interview with an Aggie

Not sure what to say at an interview? Can't figure out what to wear? Nervous about showing anyone your resume? Participate in a mock interview with an alum of your current major and career interest and receive immediate feedback on your resume, attire and interview skills. Mingle with alumni afterward and practice networking over refreshments.

Take an Aggie to Work

Do you ever wish you could test out your future career before you graduate? Maybe dabble in a different career field just to see if it fits? Take an Aggie to Work is an incredible networking opportunity that gives you the chance to job shadow a UC Davis alumni for the day. The goal of this program is to connect SAA members with alumni who work in a variety of career fields, enabling students to get a feel for real world work environments. Participants will pair with an alumni in their field of interest and allowed to make arrangements that fit into their own schedule.

Senior Tech Night

This event is a wonderful opportunity to connect with people at retirement communities in Davis and help the residents develop a better understanding of new technology. It is a lot of fun and a fantastic way to interact with the greater Davis community!

Together We Can

Help collect donated cans from different Davis neighborhoods in order to support The ASUCD Pantry here on campus. Give back to your UC Davis community!

Aggie Traditions

At UC Davis, our Aggie Traditions surround us: wearing UC blue and gold to athletic events, watching the Picnic Day parade from a favorite vantage point, wearing pajamas to greet alumni at the train station for Homecoming weekend, kissing the Egghead at Shields Library for good luck during finals, and so much more. The Aggie Traditions program, which is proudly hosted by the Cal Aggie Alumni Association, preserves those traditions, as well as milestones of our outstanding university in areas ranging from athletics and agriculture to medicine and public service.

Want to be part of one of UC Davis' oldest traditions? This tradition began in 1912 when a group of pajama-clad students snuck out of their dorm rooms to greet returning alumni at the Amtrak Station the night before Homecoming. SAA continues one of UC Davis’ oldest traditions each year, hosting current students, alumni and Davis community members at Pajamarino. Enjoy an evening of free entertainment, games, face painting, food and prizes. The family-friendly event will include performances by the Cal Aggie Marching Band-uh!, various student performances and special appearances.

Picnic Day

Be a part of Picnic Day, one of the largest annual student run celebrations in the United States. SAA members have access to the VIP Member lounge at the “Authentic Aggie Zone” hosted at the Alumni Center and Vanderhoef Quad.

Member Perks:

Student Send-Offs

A time-honored Aggie tradition held each summer inviting incoming students and their families to network with local alumni, current students and their parents, to learn about the UC Davis experience. These events are hosted by UC Davis alums locally and internationally. As well, the Cal Aggie Alumni Association (CAAA) and SAA host a similar event together on campus in August or September.

Leadership Program

Are you looking for a leadership position at UC Davis? SAA is looking for people who possess leadership qualities to be part of their Leadership Program. The program is designed to familiarize students with the duties and responsibilities of board positions, with the objective of identifying new directors for the board.
