The UC Davis Active Aggies Alumni Network and Outdoor Adventures invite UC Davis alumni, family, and friends for an exciting weekend of camping in the beautiful Lassen National Park. We are excited to be partnering again with our friends in Campus Recreation for this exclusive experience. Whether you’re brand-new to camping or an experienced adventurer, this trip is a great way to embark on a fully guided overnight with our experienced student guides, move your body, and spend quality time with fellow Aggies in a beautiful nature landscape.
This trip is rated easy–moderate. No prior experience is required, but participants should be prepared for day hikes, sleeping in tent, and hot and cold weather conditions. Guides will provide all gear and instruct on usage, terrain and locations
Registrants are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-trip meeting on Monday June 22nd @ 6:30pm (zoom option).
Date: June 27-28th, 2026
Time: 6:00 a.m. Saturday to about 8:00pm Sunday. (dependent on traffic conditions)
Location: Meet at the Outdoor Adventures Lodge at 6:00 a.m.
Registrations close Wednesday, June 17, at 12pm.
What to Expect
🧗🏾♀️ Camp and cook great food in Lassen NP – All gear is provided and staff will work hard to teach and support camping and navigation skills.
🥾 Beginner-Friendly Activity – Learn basic techniques and tips for fun and comfortable camping and hiking
🧑🤝🧑 Community & Connection – Share a unique climbing experience with fellow alumni, staff, faculty, and friends.
What’s Included?
✅ Provided by Outdoor Adventures:
- Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, headlamp, etc
- Transportation to the park
- Instruction from experienced, professional guides
- Group safety equipment (water, cooking, medkits, etc)
✅ What You’ll Need to Bring:
- Your own transportation to the UC Davis meeting location (lot 30)
- Hot weather, layered clothing (base layers, sun protection layer)
- Cold weather, layered clothing (hat, gloves, waterproof layer)
- Closed toe, comfortable shoes for the hike.
- Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen
- Refillable water bottles (at least 2 Liter carrying capacity and any personal snacks or lunch in a day pack
