Active Aggies Group Hike: Mount Tamalpais

The UC Davis Hiking Group and Active Aggies Alumni Network would like to invite all Aggies to join them for their hike on October 17! The group will visit Mount Tamalpais, tackling Mount Tam's Pan Toll and loop to Stinson Beach via the Matt Davis trail. Experience the best California has to offer: coastal views, dense redwood forest, and a cascading stream. Hikers are also invited to the join the group for lunch at Stinson Beach after the hike ends!

This is an upper-moderate hike with a slightly difficult first half. Please arrive by 9am; we will begin the hike at 9:30am. Parking is free at the Stinson Beach lot! Mornings can be chilly so make sure to bring a light jacket and adequate trail shoes.

Level: Moderate (challenging 1st half)
Total Distance: 7.8 miles round-trip
Elevation Change: 1,500 feet
Note: Dogs are NOT allowed

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Water bottle
  • Packed lunch or money to buy lunch in town
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat and sunglasses
  • Camera or smartphone for photos
  • Completed waiver (Instructions sent upon registration)
