The Silicon Valley and Active Aggie Alumni Networks are excited to invite UC Davis alumni to join them in hiking the Saratoga Gap and Ridge Loop in Castle Rock State Park! Castle Rock State Park is a land of sculpted sandstone, lush forests, and sweeping vistas – the perfect place to reconnect with nature and your fellow Aggies.
Trail highlights include an early stop to see the 75’ waterfall from the viewing platform, Goat Rock which is a massive sandstone outcrop perfect for breaks and providing panoramic views of the San Lorenzo River Valley, and the new visitor center which has great exhibits on the local ecology.
Please arrive by 8:30am, we will begin the hike promptly at 9am. We will meet at the Castle Rock Parking Lot and there is a $10 car day-use fee. Mornings can be chilly, bring a light jacket, a bag lunch, and adequate trail shoes. There is little to no cell reception within the park and the surrounding area, so please plan accordingly.
