Because Chabot is a drinking water reservoir, swimming, and gasoline motorboats are not allowed. Pedal boats and kayaks (single & double) are available to rent at the Lake Chabot Marina & Café. If you would like to take a tour of the lake, the Lake Chabot Queen departs at 10:30 a.m., 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3 p.m. In addition to rentals and tours, the café offers snacks and drinks, lakeside sundries (hats, sunscreen, water bottles), bait & tackle, and branded apparel. They also sell state fishing licenses and the daily access permits required to fish on the lake. Renting of equipment/watercraft is all voluntary and you assume all responsibility/liability for any injuries or damaged property.
Turtle Picnic Area Description: Turtle has five 10-ft picnic tables (2 are ADA accessible), one 10-ft serving table, one double BBQ, two single BBQs, and one drinking fountain with a spigot. There are flush toilets 200 yards away. There are two chemical toilets near Willow. The site is flat, shady in the morning, and is located next to a lawn, with horseshoe pit nearby. Lawn areas, volleyball courts & horseshoe pits are not reservable. Volleyball and horseshoe equipment may be rented at the Marina concession stand ($5 + $30 refundable deposit). Parking is 50 yards away.
